FAMILY: I currently live in Neosho, Missouri with my beautiful wife, Stephanie, and our precious daughter, Maggie. My wife and I were married on July 18, 2014, and we welcomed Maggie into the world in October of 2016.
HOBBIES: I enjoy playing guitar, reading, hunting, fishing, building pvc pipe bows, and being a dad. My wife and I are the worship leaders for Sunday morning worship at Fellowship Baptist Church. I really enjoy leading fellow believers in Christ in worship! I also enjoy reading good fiction novels! I like mystery and suspenseful plots that have an unexpected twist at the end. Hunting and fishing is another thing that I like to do. I like to hunt just about anything: deer, turkeys, squirrels, frogs, etc... I like to fish with my wife, as well. One of the things that I enjoy the most, though, is investing in young people and showing them how to follow the Lord. I love to watch them grow in the Lord and do His work!

SPORTS: I never played high school sports (mostly because I was home schooled), but I do enjoy playing a variety of sports. When I was younger I played city league baseball and basketball. Now I enjoy playing games of pickup basketball or anything else that happens to come my way.
I enjoy watching sports, as well. I like to watch both college and pro football, baseball, and basketball--especially Wildcat sports! Aside from the Wildcats, my favorite team is the Mizzou Tigers.

TRAVEL EXPERIENCES: I have had the great opportunity to travel to (or through) at least twelve different states and one country outside of the United States. When I was growing up my family enjoyed taking vacations to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and I have been there multiple times. Most of my other trips throughout the southern portion of the United States have been to attend a collegiate camp in New Mexico and to go on mission trips to New Orleans, Louisiana and Arlington, Texas.
The only country that I have been to, other than the United States, is Haiti. I went to Haiti in November of 2012 on a mission trip with my church. While I was there, I witnessed the abject poverty in which the Haitian people live. Aside from the disheartening first impression, I really enjoyed my time in Haiti. I got to learn a lot about how the Haitian people live, drive (which was absolutely crazy!), shop, eat, and enjoy life with very little. The greatest part though, was getting to share the awesome story of how God loves us enough to send His Son to die on the cross to take our punishment for the wrongs we do, and how He wants a relationship with us. Nothing was greater than sharing the story of God's unfathomable love!
TEACHING CERTIFICATION AREA & WHY: I chose to became certified to teach middle school social studies and science because after working with the Jr. High aged students in my youth group at church, I realized that these young adults are the ones who are the most often rejected and pushed aside. I think that society sometimes sees them as not really cute anymore and not really big enough and knowledgeable enough to do much good, which results in them just kind of getting pushed aside. Being pushed aside is actually the worst thing that could happen to these students! They need someone who is there for them, to believe in them, to encourage them, to challenge them to be better, and to love them. I want to be that for my students. Yes, Jr. High students can be the most sarcastic beings on the entire earth, but you have just got to love them!
YOU MIGHT NOT GUESS THAT: I was home schooled for all of my education (excluding college); I have built an upside down snowman before; and I have found a three-legged chicken!

MISCELLANEOUS: The earth is round. The sky is blue because the blue light waves from the sun's light is bent and scattered more than the other wavelengths of light by the little particles of gas in the air as it comes through the atmosphere. Your heart beats approximately 100,000 times a day.
